At age nine, Greg’s father built him a backstop in the front yard and he spent hours wearing a hole in the ground practicing his batting stance. Today, he doesn’t get to play in the front yard as much, but at least he gets to write about baseball.

Over the years, he’s profiled Fergie Jenkins, the only Canadian in baseball’s Hall of Fame, written about Frank Viola Jr. (pictured above) and his wily knuckle ball, and traveled to a sticky diamond in North Carolina where former first-rounder Scott Thorman was plotting a comeback.

Greg writes about the game for, the Canadian Baseball Network and the Waterloo Region Record, where he also covers the Kitchener Panthers of the Intercounty Baseball League.
